About us

Hutchinson and Buchanan Solicitors have been established in Ripon since 1919 and we have been based at our offices at North Street throughout our 90 year history. We continue a legal practice whose origins can be traced back to the eighteenth century. Many of our solicitors come from families who have been practising as solicitors with us for several generations. We take pride in these community and family traditions.

Our large and varied client base comes from urban and rural areas of North Yorkshire and beyond. We offer an unparalleled knowledge and understanding of North Yorkshire and its people.

A considerable proportion of our clients were referred to us by existing clients. Many have become personal friends over the years and remain with us even if they have moved out of the local area.
